About Us
More than just a garage.
At Sixteen Penny we think about garages differently. Where we live, the lots are small and garages take up a big part the yard. Plus you see it from almost every room in the house. So when we decided to tear down our old busted garage I wanted the new one to be more. Of course it needed to hold two cars, a lawnmower, tools and bikes but I wanted to be able to open the doors and turn it into a Party Barn on a beautiful summer night. I wanted it to look great and match our 1915 Shingle Style Lake Bluff Camp House. I also wanted the floor to be clean and open so we built a storage loft for lawn furniture and building supplies. Its a great place to build things, smoke cigars, hang out and serve BBQ!
Organized.
Garages need to hold your stuff, we know that. But we don't think you need to stuff the thing with cabinets, drawers and plastic tubs. Let's face it, most of us have too much stuff! Things we haven't used in years. Building a garage is the perfect time to sort through all of it and decide on what you need and what you don't. Once you figure out what stays and what goes we can help figure out a way keep your stuff organized.
